Can I have my BIB number sent abroad?
No, shipping of BIB numbers is only possible within the Netherlands.

Can I still choose to have my BIB number sent if I didn’t select this option during registration?
Yes, you can! Until March 15, you can still request your BIB number by post. Please send an email to [email protected]. We will manually add this option and send you an invoice of €5.

When will I receive my BIB number by post?
You will receive your BIB number during the week leading up to the Enschede Marathon. Keep an eye on your mailbox!

What should I do if I don’t receive my BIB number in time?
Bring your registration confirmation to the registration desk during the marathon weekend on April 11 and 12. You’ll receive a replacement BIB number. Note: this replacement number will not include your name.

Will my ordered extras be shipped with the BIB number?
No, only the BIB number will be sent by post. Any extras you’ve ordered (such as merchandise) can be collected at the registration desk on April 11 and 12 during the marathon weekend.

Do you hold a valid competition license from the Dutch Athletics Federation (Atletiekunie)? Then you will compete in the competition category and may be eligible for prize money.

Important conditions:
– Prize money is only awarded if there are at least 6 participants in the category.
– Participants must hold a valid competition license from the Atletiekunie.
– Participants must comply with the competition regulations. In case of violation, the right to prize money expires.
– Prize money cannot be accumulated: if you are eligible in multiple categories, you will only receive the highest amount.

How are the results determined?
The results are classified based on gun time (the order of crossing the finish line), as prescribed by the competition rules of the Dutch Athletics Federation (Atletiekunie).

Does this also apply to category rankings?
Yes, category rankings are also determined based on gun time.

What should I do if I lost something during the Enschede Marathon?
Have you lost something during the Enschede Marathon? Don’t worry — we’re here to help! Everything that has been found during the event is carefully collected and kept safe by the organization. Whether it’s a jacket, keys, phone, or something else – we’ll do our best to return lost items to their rightful owners.

How can I report a lost item?
Please contact us as soon as possible by emailing [email protected] or calling the phone number listed on our website. Provide a clear description of the lost item, including details such as color, brand, and the approximate location or time where you may have lost it. This helps us assist you more quickly.

How do I link my start number in the app?
NOTE: First of all, check that you are in the right version (of this year). You do this by clicking on the arrows next to “timeline” at the top left of the app. Then select the correct year. After this, continue with the steps below.

The start number can be linked as follows:
Step 1: In the app, click on the 2 “people” in the top right corner
Step 2: Click on the plus sign at the top right
Step 3: Find yourself using the ‘magnifying glass’ at the top right!
Step 4: Click on ‘This is me!’ and you have linked the start number!

Not working? Check that your name, email and date of birth match your registration!

The registration desk is open on Saturday 11 April from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday 12 April from 7.30 a.m. until one hour before the start.

Is there a participation limit?
No, we do not have a participation limit.

How many minutes before the start of my race should I be in the starting area?
10 minutes, but we recommend being present earlier around the starting point.

Are there pacers?
Yes, there are pacers present on the full and half marathon.

Is it allowed to accompany people on their bikes?
No, this is not allowed.

Is there a possibility to bring my own sports drinks?
We offer participants in the Elektramat Marathon and Forvis Mazars Half Marathon the possibility to bring their own sports drinks. Participants of the marathon can bring their own sport drinks on Saturday, April 11 from 10:00-16:00 at the Runnersbeurs or on Sunday, April 12 between 08:00 and 08:30 at the registration desk. The bottles must have the start number and the kilometer point of the care station written on them. The maximum height of the water bottles is 24 centimeters. Unfortunately we cannot deliver all bottles that are higher to the corresponding supply point.

Will there be starting areas?
When registering, you indicate your expected finish time. Based on this, you will be assigned a starting wave: blue, yellow, orange, red, or grey (for competitive runners). The color of your starting wave will be shown on your bib number.
Note: This only applies if you register on or before March 15, 2026. If you register later, you will automatically be placed in the last starting wave (red).
You can participate as a recreational or competitive runner.

You can participate as a recreational runner or as a competitive runner. Only with a competition licence from the Dutch Athletics Federation can you start as a competitive runner and compete for prize money. If you don’t have such a licence, you will automatically take part as a recreational runner.

How does the time measurement work?
Time clocks are located at all 5 km points of the run, at the half marathon point and at the finish. The kilometer points are indicated by signs on the side of the road.

Are there lockers available?
Yes, there are lockers available. To ensure that we can provide participants with a 100% secure way to store valuable belongings, this year, by popular request, we are introducing lockers instead of the traditional free cloakroom.

Until when do I get a first name start number?
Registrations through March 15 2026 will have a starting number with first name included.

Can I still register during the marathon weekend?
It is possible to arrange your registration on Saturday, April 11 or Sunday, April 12 at the registration desk.

How can I register as a Belgian participant?
This is possible through the English registration form, for participants outside the Netherlands but within Europe.

What about ordered extras?
Ordered extras can be used or picked up/used during the marathon weekend. T-shirts and BibBits will not be sent to your home, but can be picked up at the Runnersbeurs.

 

Will my race number be sent to my home?
No, it must be picked up on location (see next question).

Where can I pick up my race number?
You can pick up your start number on Saturday April 11 from 10.00-16.00 and Sunday April 12 from 07.30 to one hour before the start at the registration desk in Enschede. Your start number will be visible in the Enschede Marathon trackingapp in the first week of April.

Can I pick up the race number of someone else?
Yes, it is possible. For this you need a screenshot of the start number from Enschede Marathon trackingapp of your running buddy.

 

Where should I pick up my ordered extras?
The running shirt, bibbits and socks can be picked up at the registration desk during the marathon weekend. Other extras, as the engraving of your medal, are done at the H.J. van Heekplein.

Where can I have my medal engraved?
After you cross the finish line, you will of course receive your well-deserved medal. The costs are € 6.50 for pre-registration and € 8.00 on the day of the event. You can have your medal engraved in the merchandise tent on H.J. van Heekplein.

Can I cancel my registration?
Yes, this is possible until March 15, 2026, via [email protected]. Only when you have cancellation insurance you will receive your registration fee back and, if desired, the money for the ordered items. If you have not taken out cancellation insurance, a refund is NOT possible.  Do you have any questions about this? Contact us.

Can I change my registration?
Up to and including March 15, 2026, changes are possible by sending an email to [email protected]. If you want to change to a longer distance, an invoice for the price difference will be sent. After March 15, 2026, it will only be possible to change your distance at the Runnersbeurs on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12. Don’t forget to mention your expected finish time! If you change to a shorter distance, you will not receive a refund for the price difference.

Can I transfer my race number?
Transferring the starting number for the ‘Marathon’ and ‘Half Marathon’, 10 km an 5 km to a third party is possible in writing until 15 March 2026. At the registration desk during the weekend itself, it is possible at the relevant stand. Please note: while stocks of available ‘exchange’ start numbers last!

Can I add extras, such as a t-shirt or engraving of my medal, to my registration?
Yes, this is possible until March 15, 2026, at [email protected].

Are there any photo’s avalaible after Enschede Marathon?
Yes, as soon as possible are the photo’s published on our website.

Is it paid parking on April 12?
Yes, it is considered a normal shopping Sunday that is not different from other Sundays. However, shopping Sunday is = walking Sunday. Stores are closed.

Where can I park?
Through this link you can find all parking spots for bicycle and car. However, we recommend coming by bike or public transport, Enschede Central Station is easily accessible.

What do I need to do if I want to become a volunteer?
Enschede Marathon requires many volunteers. Without the help of volunteers the Enschede Marathon cannot take place. More information you will find here.

I want to become a traffic controller in the marathon weekend, but I have no certificate, how do I arrange this?
Through us it is possible to do an online course for a certificate. This certificate is valid for one year and can also be used for other events. Please mail to [email protected] for more information.
