International Topsport Events Foundation
The International Topsport Events Twente Foundation (ITET) is a special partnership between the organizations of the top sporting events FBK Games (Hengelo), Triathlon Holten (Holten), CSI Twente (Geesteren), Military Boekelo-Enschede (Boekelo) and Enschede Marathon (Enschede) . The cooperation between the aforementioned events dates from 27-09-2009 and was formalized on 27-11-2014 with the establishment of its own foundation, which serves as a point of contact for numerous forums from the public and private sectors. Together, the events create a unique business-to-business platform with generous spin-off effects in economic, social-social, political-administrative and educational terms. In addition, the composition of the foundation guarantees a good balance between the individual compartments within Regio Twente in terms of sporting disciplines, geographical distribution, the relationship between city life and country life and chronology.

The events jointly generate an economic impact of no less than 11.7 million euros, a publicity value of 2.5 million euros, a number of visitors of 250,000 (37% from outside the region) and more than 400,000 euros in overnight stays. With a participation rate of 500 sponsors, 36,000 relationships and more than 30,000 man-hours by volunteers, the events play an important connecting role within Twente society. Such key figures have resulted in the International Topsport Events Foundation having been repeatedly cited by the NOC-NSF as a pilot project within the “Olympic Fire” campaign and in 2013 the Twente Herring Primeur Committee was awarded the Silver Herring.
