Changing rooms and shower facilities
On Sunday, April 22, all changing facilities and clothing drop-off will be housed in the H.J. van Heekgarage and the H.J. van Heekplein. Afterwards there is also an opportunity to shower in the H.J. van Heekgarage. For the participants in the Tubantia CompanyRUN special facilities are available at ‘Saxion’ at the M.H. Tromplaan 28. Here, participating teams can leave their clothes. In addition, the team photos are made in the courtyard next to ‘Saxion’ this year.
Toilets are available at the changing facilities, the start, finish and at strategic places along the course.
Every 2,5 km there is a service post with water and bananas and every 5 km there is a post with Isodrink from SportvoedingWebshop.com. At all service posts in 2,5 km, 7,5 km, 12,5 km, etc., you will also find sponges and cups of water.
After the finish water and Isodrink from SportvoedingWebshop.com is handed out.
Your own sports drink
Stichting Marathon Enschede offers participants of the marathon the opportunity to bring their own sports drink. Marathon participants can deliver their personal sports drink on Saturday, April 21 from 11.00-18.00 hours at the Runners Expo or on Sunday, April 22 between 08.00 and 08.30 hours at the registration office at ‘Saxion’. On the bidons (no glass!) your start number and the kilometre point of the service post must be mentioned. The maximum height of the bidons is 24 centimetres. Unfortunately, all bidons that are higher cannot be delivered to the respective service post.
Time registration/MySports chip
The time registration of all distances is by the MySports chip. The MySports chip is a time registration chip attached to the back of the start number. Each participant will automatically receive a MySports chip when picking up the start number. Therefore, running with your own chip is not possible.
Also this year, Aktiefoto will be present again during the Enschede Marathon in order to make fun action photos of the participants. The photos will be available online from Monday, April 23 (after April 22) at www.aktiefoto.nl.
Time clocks will be at all 5 km points along the course and at the finish. Signs on the side of the road indicate the kilometre points.
On the day of the Marathon, after the race, runners will be given the opportunity to get a massage to relax the muscles and to improve the blood flow. Through the massage, bodily wastes (including lactate) are drained faster from the body, resulting in a reduction of muscle stiffness and a faster recovery of the body. This service is offered by SON (Sportmassage Oost Nederland). The location is going to be indicated by signs.
